Welfare Square

On July 20th, for our combined YW activity, we headed downtown to Welfare Square. For those that don't know, that includes a Bishop's Storehouse, a DI, the Bakery, the Cannery, the Grain Silo, and the Dairy. They make and package new things of food and sort/sell donated goods at the DI. They also store food too-think the missionary conducting the tour said 6 months worth-but she couldn't say for how many people but guessing they just use the average number of people that they help and figure it that way. Very cool tour-we learned a lot and it really puts your own blessings into perspective. It would be very humbling to have need so great that you rely on the Church for everything-but good thing it's there when we do!
